I found the following deed at the Maine Historical Society:

 Know all Men, by these presents, that I Samuel Crocket of Gorham In the County of Cumberland and Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England, Shipwright for and in consideration of the sum of Forty-three pounds Lawful Money to me in Hand paid by Richard Edwards in the County of Cumberland and Province aforesaid, Yeoman The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and my self fully paid have Given, Granted bargained Sold, and do by these presents, give grant bargain sell aliene and freely and Absolutely Convey and Confirm unto the said Richard Edwards and his Heirs, one Seventy Acre Lott Number seventy three in Gorham aforesaid in the Third Division of said Township (a phrase heavily blacked out and unreadable) the bounds of said Lott may appear by By the Proprietor's plan and Records of said Township together with all the Priviledges and Appurtenances in fee simple for ever, and I the said Samuel Crocket do avouch myself to be the Sole Lawful owner of the bargained premises, and am Lawfully seized therof And have good right to dispose of the same as aforesaid and that they are free from all Encumbrances whatsoever and do also hereby for myself my Heirs executors and Administrators covenant with the said Richard Edwards his heirs and assigns the granted and bargained premises and appurtenances, against the lawful claim and Demands of all persons whom forever To Warrent and for ever Defend ~
In witness whereof I Samuel Crocket do hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of March in the fourteenth year of His Majesty's Reign Annoque Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and seventy four
