Brookline MA Sam Dunnell Edwards enlisted May 15, 1861, as a Private in the 5th. Maine Regt. Infantry and later became Aide do Camp to the Col. of that Regt. He was honorably discharged, and May 25, 1863, enlisted in the Navy as Third Assistant Engineer. He was promoted Nov. 15, 1864, to the rank of Second Assistant on U. S. Steamship troonage and Cambridge; and was honorably discharged Sept. 26, 1865. Member of AF&AM; IOOF; and UVU. Other Info:
