Poland ME Jonas Stevens, a soldier of the Revolution, and Sarah, his wife, settled May, 1785, on the west shore of Pennessewassee Lake in the plantation of Rustfield, now town of Norway, Me. They came from Gray, Me., and were one of the first three pioneer families of the plantation. Sarah, their youngest daughter, was the first white child born in the plantation.
