Augusta ME; Waterville ME, 1856 During the first sixteen years of his residence in Waterville, Me., William W. Edwards was employed in the car shops of the M. C. R. R. He resigned this position to become Deputy Sheriff. He served the city of Waterville for many years as constable, and even after his active duties were over each administration honored him with honorary appointment and a special police badge. he was Coroner of Kennebec County sixteen years. Prior to his retirement his occupation for eighteen years was auctioneer, being in great demand as such. He was especially fond of fishing, and it is said that he always knew the places which would yield "a catch of speckled beauties." Likewise it is claimed that he was proficient in telling stories for the entertainment of his many friends, both young and old. Member of Samaritan Lodge, No. 39, I.O.O.F of Maine Other Info:
