Hugh Edwards
went to Boston in 1827 where he worked at his trade as blacksmith until
1830, when he formed a partnership with R. Albert Bisbee for the
manufacture of locks and safes.
Sarah Penfield Edwards used some
of the first coal brought to Boston. She sailed in the first
steamship on route from Boston, Mass. to Portland, Me.
