Occupation: Clergyman

When Bryce Merrill Edwards was eleven years of age his parents moved to Hallowell, Me. It was then that he began to work for a living wheeling chalk in the whiting mills. Later he learned the trade of making sashes, doors, and blinds.

He studied at Eaton School in Norridgewock, Me., and at the Nichols Latin School, Lewiston, Me. He studied at bates College three years, during which time he preached in East Bowdoinham and helped build a church there. He left college in Jan., 1875 to become pastor of Second Free Will Baptist Church, Brunswick, Me. During his pastorate the church was rebuilt and thoroughly repaired. One marked feature of his work was the building and improving of church property.

He was at one time pastor of the First Free Will Baptist Church, Brunswick, Me.; and a church in Gardiner, Me.

He was employed by the Maine Baptist Association, during which time he assisted in building several churches in Aroostook county, Me.

He officiated at eight hundred funerals and two hundred and twenty-six weddings.

Mrs. Edwards was a most efficient aid to him, often conducting services for him when his health was impaired. She supplied at various times at churches where he had preached, and in 1909 became pastor of Anson (Me.) Baptist Church, at the same time supplying in Madison Me. She is now (1915) acting as supply in Winslow, (Me.) Baptist Church. She was State Evangelist, 1904-06.

Jane Curtis Edwards graduated from Brunswick High School in 1906; from Bates College in 1910, receiving degree A. B. She was Asst. in Rangeley (Me.) High School, 1910-12. She attended Columbia Teachers' College and Columbia University, 1912-13, receiving from the former a diploma and from the latter the degree A. M. She is (1915) Asst. in Clearfield (Pa.)
