Abial H. Edwards served throughout the Civil War. He was enrolled Sept., 1861; mustered in Oct. 4, 1861; and honorably discharged May 7, 1863. He served in the 1st., 9th., 10th., and 29th., Regiments. he was Corporal of Co. K, 9th., Regt. Inf. He was Brigade Mail Agent for some time, and for several months after peace was declared he had charge of the Confederate Mail at Charlestown, S. C.
